Home learning Activities
Below is a link to a variety of home learning activities that you can work through at home. These will be updated on a weekly basis in order to comply with the work the students would have worked through if we had been in school.
ASDAN ACTIVITIES

Class Information:
Tyne class sits within the Key Stage 3 area of the Secondary department of school.
Tyne class consists of 4 pupils with 3 staff along with a welfare who assists over lunch time.

Class take part in a timetable that consists of regular Numeracy and Literacy lessons focused on IEP target work. We also enjoy themed lessons around different Cultures and experimental Science sessions!
Sensory time is integrated into the day through different activities and time in the different Sensory rooms.
Pupils are working towards completing the ASDAN New Horizons modules by the end of Key Stage 3.
Autumn Term:
During the Autumn Term we completed activities to help us get to know one another and settle back into our new class. We have covered Materials in Science and enjoyed making dens with cardboard and fabrics. In PSHE we have looked at what clothes are suitable for different seasons. The pupil's enjoyed choosing the correct clothes and talking about the different types of weather.
Spring Term:
After an exciting December with lots of Christmas activities Tyne are back in routine and ready to learn.
This term there are lots of events organised for us to take part in across school which include the Valentines Disco, an external Production of Aladdin and World Book Day.
In class we have took part in Citizenship activities to help us complete our New Horizons ASDAN qualification. We have litter-picked to help clean up the environment and completed work around Friendships in and out of class.
General Information
Home School Dairies
We ask families and carers to return the Home School diary each day, as this will enable the class staff to provide comments and information about you child's day in school. If there are particular things you wish to be informed about, please speak with the class teacher.
Individual Education Plans
These set out the priority educational targets that your child is working on for the term. IEPs are updated each term and sent home. If there is anything that you would particular like us to be working on please just let us know.
Reading Books
All children and young people are encouraged to engage in reading and develop a love of stories. We have a wide range of reading books, sensory books and big books to support the learning style and levels for each child. Every Friday, your child will receive a new reading book and this will be sent home with them to enjoy with you over the weekend. Please encourage your child to engage with the characters and stories and fill in the reading record to let your child'd class staff know how they have gotten on and the please return to school on the Monday morning.
Class Funds
We kindly request that you send in £2 a week. This contributes to any weekly resources that class might need such as cookery ingredients or class snack.
Up an Coming School Events
As we are not attending school at the moment, the children will not have the opportunity to explore the up and coming events that we had planned for in Tyne. I therefore have compiled a list of these events below if you so wish to still explore them at home with your child.
April - National Autism Awareness Month
Using the National Autism Website there are lots of fun and engaging activities that you and your child could engage with at home.
17th April - Palm Sunday
To celebrate the day Jesus arrived in Jerusalem. The are lots of power points on the Twinkl website that show the story of Easter and Palm Sunday. www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and use the login code: UKTWINKLHELPS
22nd April - Earth Awareness Day
Why not carryout some activities in your own garden that inspire awareness and appreciation of the Earths Environment
30th April - 6th May RSPCA Day
Use the internet to raise awareness of the work the RSPCA do in order to care for the protection of cruelty for animals
