General Information

Home School Dairies

We ask families and carers to return the Home School diary each day, as this will enable the class staff to provide comments and information about you child's day in school. If there are particular things you wish to be informed about, please speak with the class teacher.

Individual Education Plans

These set out the priority educational targets that your child is working on for the term. IEPs are updated each term and sent home. If there is anything that you would particular like us to be working on please just let us know.

Reading Books

All children and young people are encouraged to engage in reading and develop a love of reading and listening to stories and non-fiction books. We have a wide range of reading books, sensory books and big books to support the learning style and levels for each child. Every Friday, your child will receive a new reading book and this will be sent home with them to enjoy with you over the weekend. Please encourage your child to engage with the characters and stories and fill in the reading record to let your child'd class staff know how they have gotten on and the please return to school on the Monday morning.

Class Funds

We kindly request that you send in £10 per half term. This contributes to any weekly resources that class might need. This may be sent in termly, or weekly. Thank you.

Welcome Back! We are extremely proud of how well our children are transitioning back into school. You can further support your child by sharing this social story about changes to their daily routine.

Week One: Feeling Good and Being Me. Calm Down Boxes and Sensory Stress Balls

Home School Learning: Try making a 'Calm Down' box and 'Sensory Stress Ball' at home using the instructions below.

'Happy and You Know It' Well-being Chart. We have created a well-being scale with our pictures on and place our photograph on the chart, regularly updating it throughout the day. If we are happy, then we are able to learn! If we are not, then we can use strategies to help improve our mood and that it is ‘okay not to be okay’. We can ask for help from those who care for us.

Home School Learning: Have a go at completing a 'Happiness Journal' and share with the class the things that make you happy. You can keep a written record, draw or take photographs.

I can follow health and hygiene instructions.

Forest School: We have enjoyed the sunshine and enjoyed time in our forest school area. We made the birds and autumnal treat!

Home School Learning: Make a bird feeder for your garden or a local park. As Autumn in upon us, go for a walk and see what changes you can see? This is the time of year to see fruit on our trees. Let us know what you can find.

'Mood Monsters' - ‘Feeling Good and Being Me: Owls class learnt all about emotions using ‘Mood Monsters’ and took part in some strategies to promote positive mental health, for example, yoga, massage and dance. We have explored moods through colour mixing, made our own 'mood monsters' using salt dough and sensory mood mind jars.

Home School Learning: Along with resources sent home, you may use this power point to consolidate their learning.

Bendy, giggly, clever & strong - Yoga warmup

This month we are concentrating on Mental Health and Wellbeing, known as ‘Over the Rainbow Month’. We have enjoyed promoting our mental health and well being with Tatty Bumpkins inspired Yoga. Are you ...Bendy, Giggly, Clever & Strong? Have a go at joining in with the actions!

Music - Boom Chicka Boom

We love music and movement songs. Uplift your mood by finding an instrument or even a pan and a wooden spoon and join in with Jack Hartmann to 'Boom Chicka Boom!

Dance: Can't Stop The Feeling

Owls cannot help but smile and feel good to this song. Get that sunshine in your pocket and that good soul in your feet as you dance, dance, dance along with the Trolls.
