Sefton Palm House
As part of our 'Can We Explore It?' topic we have been learning all about the Jungle. This week in our 'Understanding the World' lessons we have been learning all about the plants and trees that we might find in the jungle. We visited the Sefton Palm House where their wide range of amazing botanical plants and trees brought our learning to life! We saw some special plants and trees that we might find in the jungle. We developed our language and social skills by being out in the community and we behaved beautifully in the cafe!
In our 'Understanding the World' lessons this week we have been consolidating our understanding of jungle animals and their habitats by sorting through and separating farm animals from jungle animals.
We brought our learning to life by visiting Acorn Farm. The children had a private petting session where they learnt how to have kind hands with a range of animals. They held and stroked guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, cockerels and rats. They learnt how to feed goats and sheep safely and then had a go on their own! All of the children were very brave.
Of course, no Dragonflies Class trip is complete without a picnic and a play in the play area/park. We've had a fantastic day!
