Autumn 1 :
This half term we will be...
In Numeracy exploring money and handling coins.
In Literacy this half term we are going to be looking how information can be displayed in different ways.
In Science we will be exploring different materials around the house and some of their uses.
This half-term we are creating a recipe book containing all the soup recipes, we will use when we sell our delicious soup for enterprise.
We also have P.E coaches coming in to teach us Fencing, Judo and Everton in the Community will be teaching us lots of different P.E skills.
We ask parents and carers to return the home / school diary each day, as this will enable the class teacher to provide comments and information about your child’s day in school. If there are particular things you wish to be informed about, please speak with me.
Individual Education Plan (IEP’s)
This plan sets out educational targets that your child is working on for the term. There is a section in the plan which provides parents and carers with activities or tasks you can do at home to support your child’s learning. Plans are updated each term and sent home.
All children and young people are encouraged to engage in reading and develop a love of stories. We have a wide range of reading books, sensory books and big books to support the learning styles and levels for each child. Books will be changed regularly and we ask you try to sit with your child and engage with the characters and stories.
We kindly ask that you send in £2 each week. This contributes to snack and cookery ingredients that we use each week.
P .E. sessions take place each Wednesday. Our topics this term are Team games and Dance . Please ensure a full P.E. kit (change of T-shirt) is brought to school and that items are clearly labelled to avoid confusion. Swimming sessions will take place for Tyne class on a Thursday.
We have now started our curriculum work and below you can see some of the work we have done so far. Each child's individual learning pattern is specific to their needs to ensure they gain the most from their learning experience.
