We ask parents and carers to return the home / school diary each day, as this will enable the class teacher to provide comments and information about your child’s day in school. If there are particular things you wish to be informed about, please speak with me.
Individual Education Plan (IEP’s)
This plan sets out educational targets that your child is working on for the term. There is a section in the plan which provides parents and carers with activities or tasks you can do at home to support your child’s learning. Plans are updated each term and sent home.
All children and young people are encouraged to engage in reading and develop a love of stories. We have a wide range of reading books, sensory books and big books to support the learning styles and levels for each child.
Some pupils will receive homework in English and Maths to support their learning. If your child is finding homework a challenge please come into school so we can discuss it together.
P .E. sessions take place each Thursday. Please ensure a full P.E. kit is brought to school and that items are clearly labelled to avoid confusion. Our topic this term is judo.
Out and About in the Community
We aim to give pupils a range of experiences including visits into the community. Here are some photos of us on our ventures out and about. So far this term we have been shopping for Enterprise projects, have been horse riding, posting letters and have visited Pizza Express (see below for Pizza Express photos).
Mersey class had lots of fun when we visited Pizza Express for a taster morning. We learnt what it was like to work in a kitchen and the importance of good hygeine! When we arrived, we put on our hats and aprons and washed our hands ready to get to work! We all made our own margherita pizza which we got to take home with us. Some of us even had a try at throwing and catching the pizza dough. This was very tricky! Thank you Manns and Nicole at Pizza Express for a wonderful morning!
